WHAT DOES A CHURCH AND A HOSPITAL HAVE IN COMMON

Both are in the business of healing…

We all know that a hospital is essential for patient’s physical health. In a hospital, doctors care for patients by diagnosing the problem, treating the physical illness, guiding patients during recovery, and monitoring/maintaining patients physical or medical needs. And regular visits, check-ups or check-ins with the doctor prevent illness from escalating.

On the other hand, the church is vital for “patients” spiritual health and well-being. In church, God uses pastors (spiritual doctors) to care for the spiritually sick, guiding them in the way they should go. Daily devotional time with God and weekly church attendance provide spiritual nourishment for the soul.

Both places are sanctuaries of healing—one for the body and the other for the soul, reminding us that holistic health requires both.
