The second best thing to do when caring for a patient is to ask about their medical condition or diagnosis. This doesn’t mean you need to know every single medical terminology “thrown” at you. You only need to know what the patient have (e.g., cancer), why they are in hospital (e.g., treatment) and what they can or cannot do. Now that you’ve gained all this important information, you’ll be able to use it in the step of caring for the patient.
